A team from the Native Child Advocacy Resource Center team traveled to Palm Springs December 10 through 13, 2024 to attend the 18th Annual National Indian Nation Conference. NCARC staff tabled and were able to share information and resources with conference attendees. We were excited to bring our latest publication, “A Handbook for Developing Effective MOUs for Multidisciplinary Teams Serving Tribal Communities.” We had lots of great conversations and made good connections with people from around Indian Country.

NCARC staff offered up two sessions at the conference. Our Project Director, Deanna Chancellor, and Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Specialist, Kara Pasqua presented a session titled, “How Children Advocacy Centers Can Improve Services by Providing Connection to Cultural Ways of Knowing and Being”. In addition, NCARC TTA Specialist, Kimmee Wind-Hummingbird, presented on “Supporting Families as a Community Response to Child Abuse and Neglect.” It was an honor to be at Indian Nations to share our work, learn from other conference attendees, and continue to develop, build and strengthen our partnerships.
