While there are many regional and national conferences that bring together Child Advocacy Center (CAC) professionals, there are very few spaces designed specifically for Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and CAC professionals who serve American Indian and Alaska Native children, families, and Nations to connect with and learn from one another and engage in conversations unique to their work.

The Tribal Peer Call was created to fill that gap, creating a supportive community where participants can exchange ideas, learn from one another, and explore culturally grounded approaches to child advocacy. Each month, professionals come together to discuss topics relevant to the CAC world, share tools and culturally-informed practices, and build meaningful relationships with others who do similar work. During these one-hour calls, conversations are honest, practical, and deeply rooted in the shared goal of strengthening services for Tribal children and families.

NEW MEETING TIME!

📅 Date: First Wednesday of every month
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM PST / 1:00 PM ET

Recently, NCARC asked participants what they found most meaningful and relevant about the Tribal Peer Call. The top responses were connecting with others, learning from other CAC members, and sharing strategies and resources. When asked which topics they would most like to explore in upcoming calls, the top responses were victim advocacy, mental health, and engaging the team, which are key areas that reflect both the challenges and strengths within Tribal child advocacy work. These feedback will guide the structure and the content of our upcoming calls.

At the Native Child Advocacy Resource Center (NCARC), our role is to:

  • Facilitate and support these calls
  • Gather resources and assist with any needs voiced by participants
  • Grow a network of professionals dedicated to improving services for Tribal families

The Tribal Peer Call is always open to new participants, where we welcome fresh perspectives, ideas, and experiences. Together, we continue to build a strong, culturally responsive community dedicated to improving the wellbeing of Tribal children and families.
